It was a four-day holiday from September 17th to 20th. September 19 is Respect for the Aged Day, and it is designated as a day to “respect the elderly who have been in society for many years and celebrate longevity.” Respect for the Aged Day once a year reminds me of my gratitude to my grandparents and parents. The feeling that you can’t usually say is also something you want to convey on Respect for the Aged Day.

On the 20th, the school was closed due to the typhoon. According to Katahira, weather forecaster, Typhoon No. 14 was characterized by being” big and slow.” It was said that there was a risk that the influence such as rain and wind would be prolonged.

With the approach of Typhoon No. 14, there was an impact on transportation.  JR West announced that it would stop operating between Hiroshima Station and Hakata Station on the Sanyo Shinkansen from the first train on the 19th. In addition, it was decided that conventional lines in Hiroshima Prefecture would be suspended all day on almost all routes from the first train on the 19th.

I’m glad that I was able to resume classes safely on the 21st. Typhoons come many times every year, so be careful!

Please look forward to our blog being updated!
